Meet your Provider

Owner | Nurse Practitioner | Women’s Health & Hormone Certified

The W H O Before I am a healthcare provider, I am a person — a mom of three, a partner, a dog mom, and certainly someone who understands firsthand just how busy and complicated life can be.

My career in healthcare began in 2010 in emergency medicine, where I spent 12 years as an ER nurse caring for people during some of their most vulnerable moments. In 2022, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner, spending three years in urgent care before transitioning into primary care for a better work-life balance.

Each of those experiences influenced and shaped the provider I am today. Emergency medicine taught me how to remain calm, think critically, and care for the person behind the diagnosis. Urgent care strengthened my ability to evaluate and treat a wide range of concerns. But primary care showed me what I had been missing: the opportunity to truly know my patients. It also accentuated the limitations and downfalls of modern-day healthcare.

The W H Y Modern medicine has incredible resources, technology, and expertise — but somewhere along the way healthcare became increasingly focused on volume, productivity, financial gains. Appointments became shorter. Providers became busier. And patients are left feeling unheard, rushed, or like just a medical record number or a dollar sign.

To be frank, I learned rather quickly that I couldn’t practice that way. There HAD to be another way. A way for me to practice with time for compassion, with empathy, with genuine drive to comprehensively learn about the whole picture of my patients’ healthcare journey.

I’ve always believed that if you want something to change, sometimes you have to be willing to create the change yourself. So I followed my intuition, trusted my heart, and took a chance on a dream. Community Roots was born from that belief — a desire to bring healthcare back to what it should be: personal, relational, and centered around the patient. With personal care driven by patients, for patients, not quotas. I wanted to create a practice where there is time to listen. Time to ask questions.

Time to understand not only what is happening medically, but what is happening in someone’s life that may be affecting their health and their choices that impact their health indirectly.

The H O W : My approach combines evidence-based medicine with individualized, integrative, whole-person care. I believe patients should understand their health, participate in decisions about their care, and have a provider who knows their history — not someone meeting them for the first time every time they walk through the door. Sometimes that means treating an illness. Sometimes it means preventing one. And sometimes it simply means sitting down, having a conversation, and figuring out the next step together.

Community Roots was established to be the kind of practice I wanted to be part of as a provider— and the kind of healthcare experience I would want for my own family.

With a blend of creativity, empathy, and A LOT of heart, our mission is to restore the foundational patient-provider relationships that have been lost in modern corporate medicine. Personal. Intentional. Collaborative. And rooted in the belief that exceptional medicine starts with truly knowing the person you’re caring for.
